雙語閱讀|有時，放棄并不是一件壞事

長輩們、學霸們、老師們和勵志書籍和雞湯一直在給我們洗腦，讓我們不要放棄。但是如果堅持真的讓人備受煎熬又無法達成自己的心愿的話，那么堅持還有什么用。有時，放棄并不是一件壞事。自己的生活還應該是自己做主，來看我們的閱讀文章吧。

When you try too hard but you don't succeed; when despite all your efforts you don't get the results you need, give up and move on. Drop it like it's hot, and run in the opposite direction as fast as you can.

當你竭盡全力還是沒有成功的時候，當你付出所有努力還是沒有得到想要結果的時候，放棄吧，然后從頭再來！扔掉這塊燙手山芋，以你最快的速度逃離它。

Baffled? What is wrong with giving up?

感到困惑嗎？放棄又有什么錯呢？

Oh yes, we all have been trained and conditioned to work hard to achieve our dreams, and that is a good thing.

The problem arises when all these inspirational quotes start confusing us.

但是當這些勵志名言把我們弄糊涂的時候，問題就出現了。

These messages tell people not to give up, but they don't tell you that it should only apply to your true dreams.

這些名言告訴人們不要放棄，但是卻并沒有告訴你那只適用于你真正的夢想。

They tell one to "try and try again" until they succeed, but that amount of effort should only be put toward what you really want in life and one should never quit at what they think to be their life's purpose.

它們告訴人們要“一次又一次地嘗試”直到成功，但是那樣的努力應該只用來得到你人生中最想得到的東西、以及無論人生目標是什么也決定不會放棄的東西。

The rest is all just there to confuse you, distract you, give you a headache, heartache and depress you, so don't let it.

其余的一切都只是為了迷惑你、讓你分心、使你頭疼、令你心痛、逼你抑郁，所以不要讓它得逞。

If you suck at piano and you know it's because you don't even like the instrument, give it up.

如果你鋼琴彈不好，而你也知道是因為自己不喜歡鋼琴，那就放棄吧。

If no matter how hard you study you can hardly score an above average grade, don't worry, your talent lies somewhere else. Not everybody is an A-student.

如果不管你多么努力地學習，也很難取得平均以上分數的話，不要擔心，你的才能不在這方面。不是每個人都是好學生。

If you always end up burning the chocolate cake you are trying to bake, maybe it is because you were born to buy one and not make one. Quit baking.

如果你總是把巧克力蛋糕烤成黑炭，也許那是因為你本來就應該買一個，而不是自己做一個。別再烤蛋糕啦。

Are you the worst performer on your sales team, and even the interns are better than you are? It's because you were not supposed to be a sales person, you were meant to be a DJ.

你是銷售團隊里業(yè)績最差的嗎？即使實習生都比你做得好？那是因為你本來就不應該做銷售員，你應該當個DJ。

Try to recognize your talent, your ability and your skills. Find out what you are good at, what makes you happy and then work on it.

試著找出你的才能、你的能力和你的技能。找出你擅長的東西、使你快樂的東西，然后從事那方面的工作。

If you do, no one would have to tell you or inspire you to not give up because when you love something, you keep trying until you get it right and the enthusiasm flows from within.

如果你這樣做了，沒有人會來告訴你或鼓勵你絕不要放棄，因為當你喜歡某件事情的時候，你會一直嘗試直到做對它，而在這過程中你會一直保持極大的熱情。

Don't worry about what people will say or think, it's your life, you have to live it and you have to be your own boss.

不要擔心人們會說什么或想什么，這是你自己的生活，你必須活下去，你必須成為自己的主宰。
